Abstract

Facial expression recognition is very challenging subject in day to day life. Effective expression techniques have not been realized in its shape till date. This paper focuses on Gabor Filter applications in facial expression recognition technique. These applications are based on feature extraction with the combination of Feed forward neural networks. This paper using still images, captured by camera to identify facial expressions of human and uses JAFEE database for study expressions of human. Japanese Female Facial Expression (JAFEE) database contains different expressers with different emotions or expressions. This study gives the effectiveness for real time applications of Human Computer Interface (HCI).
